Good German food is so hard to come by. After living in Houston for a few years now, I look back on my time at A&M wishing I better appreciated having this place nearby. It's a gem that provides a delicious kind of cuisine that is increasingly difficult to find without actually flying to Europe or cooking it yourself.
Absolutely loved this place, especially the atmosphere which is a great call back to original Germany. Had the greatest schnitzel I've ever had in my life and I have eaten it in Germany. The only negative is they do not have German red cabbage or potato balls which I thought were complete staples and couldn't believe they didn't have it but still a five-star experience. I will definitely go back!
I spent a few years in Germany in the service. It is very rare to find anything close to actual Germain food in the states. This is the real deal, the Rahm sauce is not exactly what I get in Germany but the Schnitzel is spit on and the sauce is close enough. Next time I will go with the Jager version. All the sides were great, the service was friendly and the place had a lively qnd friendly crowd. I cant wait to visit again when we are back in town !
Schnitzel is apparently their specialty. With a full menu page dedicated to schnitzels, they have many different style options, each with pork, chicken, or veal. Their hot (warm) German potato salad was also very good and nothing like American potato salad. Don't expect a fast meal, at least during the summer off-season. I would expect more waitstaff and faster service when Texas A&M is in session. Either way, I strongly recommend the food. And of course, don't forget the on-draft beer selection.

The meal started with an amazing leek soup that was rich, creamy, and full of flavor—truly a perfect starter. If I could describe it poetically, it felt like a warm hug! Next up was the Bavarian sampler, which gave us a delightful variety of traditional German dishes, each one more delicious than the last. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making it a standout on the menu. Lastly, the bread pudding was to die for! It was so wonderfully textured and sweet that I dream of it even a week later. The restaurant has a cozy and authentic Bavarian atmosphere that adds to the overall charm. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable meal. If you're in the area and craving some authentic German cuisine, Bavarian Brauhaus is a must-visit! Next time I come out to visit my friend, I’m coming straight back!
I want to be a regular. I want to come back on my birthday. I need that cottage pie everyday for lunch. Just wow 👌 Such a great place with amazing service too!
German food is my all time favorite and this was pretty good! The pretzel was a little too dry but everything else was really good!
This place is great! The ambiance is perfect. The food came out surprisingly fast, and the schnitzel was so good. I returned for another round. And WOW! It was even better than the last time. This time I asked my server, Morgan, for input. I totally should have done that before. She was spot on! This place is an absolute golden find. I only wish I lived closer so that I could come here more often. Without a doubt, I will return EVERY time I'm in town.
This is definitely a top 5 place in my opinion for restaurants in Bryan/College Station. Good German food, favorite being the Jagerschnitzel and Spätzle. Beer is also very good and honestly pretty cheap especially for the liter beers coming in at only $15. Atmosphere is usually pretty quiet which is nice. We have been probably close to a dozen times and never had a bad experience. Love this local place.
It was pretty decent. I’ve not ever been to a Bavarian/German restaurant before so this was a new experience for me. I got the lemonade, leek and potato soup, and the spätze, as well as a pretzel for an appetizer. In general, the food is good. My preference is not a lot of black pepper in my food but the soup had a lot of black pepper. If you don’t like pepper don’t get the soup. The spätze had an eggy flavor which I’ve been told is what it’s supposed to be like. The pretzel was probably one of the best things that I ate. It had such a nice crispy outside but had a soft inside. The salt wasn’t too strong either. The pretzel is pretty big so be aware. Another note, seating fills up really quickly so make sure to get there early.
